Chesnok Red garlic

Learning About Garlic Groups Garlic comes in many different types, and sometimes it can be confusing because people call the same garlic by different names. To make things easier, I decided to learn about garlic by starting with the main groups. There are three main groups of garlic: Porcelain, Rocambole, and Purple Stripe. I realized that two of the garlic varieties I already grow—Rocambole and Russian Red—both belong to the Rocambole group. Another type I grow, called Music, is part of the Porcelain group. I wasn’t sure what group my Mexican garlic belongs to, so I plan to do more research on it. Since I didn’t have any garlic in the Purple Stripe group, I decided to try growing a variety called Chesnok Red. I read that it has some great qualities, and I’m excited to learn more about it as it grows.
